IN THEIR OWN WORDS...
Heather McKendry, Canopy Tour Director
Heather brings a wide knowledge base to the Canopy Tour, and has been with the program since its first days. With a background in outdoor education, ropes course building experience, and both feet firmly planted in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Heather is well-fitted for her position.
Greg Auger, Canopy Tour Guide
Greg originally came from "up the road a piece" in Groveton, NH, and is currently seeking his Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from UNH. He'll be getting married this summer but in the meantime, he's hitched to our Canopy Tour as one of our trusty guides. He's very familiar with our resort, having worked here for a total of 14 years, mostly in ski patrol and ski school. When you meet Greg, you'll quickly get the sense that he loves working in the great outdoors, and hiking, mountain biking, and skiing occupy his spare time as well.
Chris Baxter, Canopy Tour Guide
Chris recently moved to the North Country from Keene, NH, with the sole purpose of joining the team here at Bretton Woods. He worked with us on the Williwaw Racing Zip this past winter and, with great enthusiasm, became a Canopy Tour guide. Chris is a long boarder, snowboarder and a self-proclaimed "cup-half-full" kind of guy. You will be in good hands with Chris as your guide.
Eddie Berke, Canopy Tour Guide
Eddie is a born and bred Granite Stater. Originally from Bow, NH, he now lives in Franconia during the summer months, guiding Canopy Tours at Bretton Woods. Eddie deeply enjoys the natural world and learning from the simplicity and elegance of Nature. He does so by hiking, skiing, climbing trees, skipping stones and stargazing. He also partakes in more athletic pursuits, such as soccer, golf and hockey. This fall, Eddie will be a sophomore at St. Lawrence University, where he intends to become a geology major. He can't wait to have you on his tour, get to know you and show you a great time in the trees!
Rick Boyle, Canopy Tour Guide
Rick is an avid outdoor enthusiast and brings a wealth of experience to the Canopy Tour. He has been providing guided hikes and overnight back packing trips in the white mountains for over 30 years. In the winter, he is a full time ski patroller here at Bretton Woods. He is a certified Wilderness First Responder and an Outdoor Emergency Care provider. In his spare time, he enjoys white water kayaking, rafting, biking, hiking and golfing.
Neal Brodien, Canopy Tour Guide
Our walking nature encyclopedia, weather enthusiast and knowledgeable tour guide, Neal has made a flawless transition from ski patroller to guide. He brings us a wealth of outdoor experience and facts about every facet of our natural world. Take advantage; you have a treat in store, as Neal guides you through the magical world which surrounds us, as we zip through the trees.
Todd Donahue, Canopy Tour Guide
Most of Todd's work has been in places where most people play. Whether working at ski areas out west, guiding snowmobile tours or enjoying some kayaking or golf, Todd makes sure he has a good time. You'll definitely enjoy a Canopy Tour with Todd.
Lennie Fillius, Canopy Tour Guide
Lennie spent 23 years developing and operating adventure-based therapeutic programs in NJ. He came to us from the Bretton Woods Ski & Snowboard School, where in the winter months, he teaches alpine and telemark skiing. He enjoys motorcycle touring, kayaking, cycling, hiking and of course, showing our guests a good time on the Canopy Tour.
Tim Fleury, Canopy Tour Guide
Tim is originally from Wesford, MA and graduated from Lyndon State College with a degree in Ski Area Management. He's worked for three years at our resort, as the Bretton Woods Events Coordinator, and currently resides in Littleton, NH with his wife Katherine. Tim enjoys fly fishing and downhill skiing and is about as friendly and easy-going as they come up here in the North Country.
Kevin Fraser, Canopy Tour Guide
If it's an outdoor activity, Kevin's got it covered. An avid hiker and member of the AMC 4000 footer club, he's also a member of Bretton Woods ski patrol and 14-year member of the National Ski Patrol. Add 32 years as a firefighter, 20 years as a high school soccer coach, bike riding and kayaking to his arsenal, and you're in good hands on our tour with this well-rounded outdoorsman.
Tyler Grieve, Canopy Tour Guide
Tyler is a New Hampshire native who attends college at Norwich University as a member of the Corps of Cadets. He enjoys working outside in any weather or climate and is an outdoor sport enthusiast, participating in skiing, snowboarding, climbing, mountain biking and hiking. A procrastinator by nature, Tyler is an easy going guy who loves meeting new people.
John Halupowsky, Canopy Tour Guide
An avid skier, climber and hiker, John has been guiding adventures since 1981. He began his guiding career working for the east coast's largest climbing school, then operated his own guiding service before joining the Bretton Woods staff. John has traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe, looking for the best snow and cliff faces, and has racked up an impressive list of ascents and descents. He lives in Intervale, NH, with his wife (who must be a saint), daughter and son (both incredible ski racers).
Doug Harman, Canopy Tour Guide
After spending many years working in the hectic world of emergency medicine in Connecticut, Doug is happy to enjoy a more relaxed pace, living in the North Country of New Hampshire. With several years working as a ski patroller and mountain bike patroller, Doug still appreciates - as much as ever - spending his days showing our guests a little bit of the good life.
Kris Hennessey, Canopy Tour Guide
We welcome Kris' passion for outdoor activities and true appreciation for the art of conversation. She has given us a whole new perspective, as we share in her positive can-do attitude.
Kyle Hildenbrand, Canopy Tour Guide
Kyle lives by these four words: Hike, Bike, Ski and Zip, but not necessarily in that order. In the winter, he's both a Bretton Woods alpine ski instructor and Canopy Tour guide.
Paul Ingersoll, Canopy Tour Guide
Good natured and perfectly suited to guide our tours doesn't even begin to describe the wonder of Paul. He joined us straight off his snowboard, spending the winter both patrolling and guiding. Paul greets every adventure with a smile, whether leading a Canopy Tour, riding his motorcycle or looking for turkeys in the woods with his son. With an incredible balance between hard working, capable and fun loving, Paul combined his diverse life experiences to come on board the Canopy Tour.
Mike Innes, Canopy Tour Guide
Mike comes to the Canopy Tour with over 20 years experience as a professional outdoor guide. He has taken guests on hiking, biking, paddling and skiing adventures throughout the country. He received a Master's degree in Education from Springfield College and is a natural teacher and motivator. Mike considers the outdoors his classroom. In his free time, his passion for the outdoors continues. Mike and his wife have hiked all of New Hampshire's 4,000 footers, in every season of the year. With Mike as your Canopy Tour guide, his enthusiasm and positive energy will create an experience that will exceed your expectations!
James Marsh, Canopy Tour Guide
James has lived in Connecticut for most of his life. He recently graduated from Lyndon State College, with a 4-year Mountain Recreation Management degree, and decided to stay in the White Mountains. When he is not riding zip lines or taking kids on back-packing trips, he likes to spend time rock climbing, hiking, canoeing or mountain biking in the warmer seasons, and snowboarding, ice climbing or climbing mountains in the snowy seasons. Some of his favorite foods are frozen cool whip and bacon, and his favorite color is blue.
Mike Maziarz, Canopy Tour Guide
The neighborhood nice-guy, Mike grew up in a small town in Southern New Hampshire. A natural athlete and outdoorsman, it wasn't until Mike began attending Plymouth State University that he truly discovered his passion for working with people in an outdoor setting. Upon graduating with degrees in Psychology and Adventure Education, Mike spent two months hiking on the Appalachian Trail, before pursuing his goal of working at a ski mountain. You can usually find Mike floating down one of the many rivers in the area, climbing mountains or cooking in his crock pot - assuming he's not already vocalizing his enthusiasm flying across the big zip.
Patrick McKerley, Canopy Tour Guide
Patrick came to Bretton Woods long before the rest of the team, primarily as a ski patroller in the winter months. It soon became evident that he was a willing and able "Patrick-of-all-trades." He is a natural teacher, who seamlessly reaches out to all ages, abilities and walks of life. We know you are in capable hands with Patrick as your guide.
Steve Nichipor, Canopy Tour Guide
Steve's love for the mountains has been an ever-present force throughout his life. He has been a professional guide for a number of years. Whether zipping through the trees, skiing Tuckerman Ravine or climbing on Cathedral Ledge, he always enjoys helping people have an unforgettable adventure. A backcountry skier, avid rock and ice climber, coffee roaster, builder, loving father and husband, culinary artist and wilderness emergency care provider, there isn't much that Steve is not ready and willing to undertake.
Zack Potter, Canopy Tour Guide
Zack's love of the White Mountains began at the ripe old age of three, when his family moved here from Michigan. From there, it grew by leaps and bounds through high school ski programs, including ski jumping. Following "spiritual awakening" trips to France and Australia's Outback and Great Barrier Reef, Zack finally landed at Hobart College, where he double-majored in Religion and Music. After four more years as a "flatlander" in Western NY, the inner ski bum got the best of him again in the summer of 2009, and he's been with the Bretton Woods Canopy Tour ever since.
Cory Snyder, Canopy Tour Guide
Born and raised in Sugar Hill, NH, Cory's experience and energy is unsurpassed. When he is not guiding at Bretton Woods, he can be found studying exercise science at UNH or, more likely, skiing for the US Telemark Team on the FIS Telemark Skiing World Cup. As a top ranked National and International skier, it's a wonder he finds time for the Canopy Tour. A tour with this witty young chap will definitely leave you grinning ear to ear!
Mike Walker, Canopy Tour Guide
Mike is no stranger to heights, as he has spent many years building log homes with a family business in northern New Hampshire. On his free time he enjoys kayaking, gardening and searching the woods for moose antlers.
Bobby Wisnouckas, Canopy Tour Guide
From hiking thousands of miles, to repairing cars, to getting big air on his snowboard, Bobby brings a wide range of talents and a tremendous amount of enthusiasm to leading Canopy Tours. You'll know from the moment you meet him that Bobby loves his job.
