Beating Breast Cancer from the Bottom Up!

2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend:  Friday, January 13 - Monday, January 16, 2017

Breast cancer affects hundreds of thousands of women in the United States annually. October may have already passed, but it is never the wrong time to raise awareness for a disease afflicting so many. Join us on January 13th through the 16th at the Bretton Woods Ski Area for our 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend. Beginning with a dedication ceremony for our pink ski lift tower located on the West Mountain Express, this event will be a weekend long drive to raise as much money as possible for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Why not have some fun while supporting this great cause? You won’t want to miss this year’s 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend at Bretton Woods!

Donations can be made at our Think PINK! NBCF Fundraising Table or at any point of sale at the Bretton Woods Ski Area and Nordic Center.

All Weekend Long!

Driven to Beat Breast Cancer 

We will be keeping track of donations that come in during our Think PINK! weekend. All donors who give $50.00 or more in a single transaction to this wonderful cause will be entered into a raffle to win a free groomer ride!

Tie One On For Breast Cancer
All weekend long we will be offering special pink ribbons at the Slopeside Restaurant for $1.00. Donors can write a special message on the ribbon and “tie one on” to our giant Think PINK! ribbon on the Slopeside Level of the Base Lodge.

Climb for Cancer“Beating Breast Cancer from the Bottom Up” takes on a new meaning with our Climb for Cancer special. This weekend only, when purchasing 10 minutes on the Slopeside Climbing Wall, you can get an additional 5 minutes for just $3.00! That $3.00 will go to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. You must purchase 10 minutes on the Slopeside Climbing wall to take advantage of this offer.

    Breast Cancer Awareness Snowshoe Tour
    Support Breast Cancer awareness by participating in a recreational snowshoe race at the Bretton Woods Nordic Center at the Omni Mount Washington Resort. Our gentle, 5k snowshoe loop will leaving you feeling amped up for the weekend and this great cause! Entry Fee is $5.00 donation. Rentals not included.

    2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend Kick –Off and Dedication Ceremony
    Come join us in the middle of the Oscar Barron’s trail for our first on- snow dedication ceremony of the 11th ski lift tower on the West Mountain Express which was painted pink last year in order to raise awareness for Breast Cancer and honor the survivors as well as those still battling the disease. After a few word from a special guest, a ceremonial bottle of champagne will be poured out to bring luck as we attempt to surpass our goal of $5,000 in a single season.

    On Monday, January 16th, purchase unlimited runs for the day on our Nastar Course and a portion of the $10.00 fee will go to Norris Cotton! The fastest racers of the day will get a prize! $10 entry fee will apply. Rental fees not included.

Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend FAQ

What is this event all about?
  • Last year, the 11th ski lift tower on the West Side Quad was painted pink for Breast Cancer Awareness. We have chosen MLK or Winter Carnival Weekend as an opportunity for fundraising and spreading breast cancer awareness.
What are we doing to raise funds?
  • We are accepting donations at every Point of Sale (POS) at the Ski Area and Nordic Center throughout the weekend (Jan. 13th through the 16th )
  • “Think Pink” Items will be sold at Saturday and Sunday’s Adult Après Party.
Where is the money going to go?
  • The money raised is to go to the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center, a local group based out of Lebanon, NH and centered around the Norris Cotton Cancer Center.
  • Started in 1982, the friends of Norris Cotton have contributed more than $27 Million dollars to cancer research.
What will they use the money for?
  • The donated funds go to funding world class research, state of the art equipment, critical education programs, and clinical trials which help cancer patients all over the world.
How can I participate?
  • There will be a dedication ceremony at the pink pole at noon on Saturday with guest speaker Jim Bonney, a chairperson for the friends of Norris Cotton.
  • You can make a donation at any POS or purchase a think pink item on Saturday’s Adult Après.
