Annual Salute to Freedom at Bretton Woods


Spend your July 4th with us this summer and enjoy Omni Mount Washington Resort's popular annual celebration that salutes soldiers from the American Revolution to the present-day. Enjoy festive demonstrations, fireworks, musical performances, barbeques, beverage tastings and classic family activities! There is tons of fun to be had! 

Don't forget to make your reservations in advance as this tends to be a popular weekend to visit!

10:30 am: Minute to Win It: July 4th Edition
Enjoy this fast pace game, as you and your team will face another team to see who can finish first!

12 pm: Soda Fountain Floats
Start your weekend off right as you cool off with this delicious treat! Join us in the Great Hall for your selection of sodas, ice cream and toppings. Fees apply; $5 per soda float.

3 - 5 pm: All-American Welcome
Start your weekend with a bang! Raise a glass to the Stars and Stripes as you are welcomed to the Resort to start your celebration with a featured Fourth of July beverage! Plan out your weekend as you learn about the special resort offerings this weekend

5 pm: Moose & Bear Lecture
Discover the wildlife of Northern New Hampshire with outdoor enthusiast, Nigel Manley. Come discover secrets of the natural world while enjoying intriguing educational facts about animals in New Hampshire. 

6:30-9:30 pm: Omni Kids Explorers at Night
Kids ages 4 to 12 are welcome to come and enjoy a vast array of fun activities at Omni Kids Explorers. This program will include our daily ice breaker activity, kid-friendly crafts, a variety of recreational activities, and Omni Kids' Featured Activity. Wacky themes will encourage smiles and great memories. Fees apply.

7 pm: Paint the Masters
Gather your friends and join us for a fun and creative evening of step-by-step painting instruction. Join seasoned artist Tinalyn Caisse as you learn how to paint your own masterpiece. For $45 per person you will receive an introductory acrylic painting kit, a finished canvas to take home and a wine tasting. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Activities Concierges' desk at (603) 278-8989. 

8 pm: S'mores and Singing by the Fire
Gooey mashmallows, melted chocolate, crunchy graham crackers, and plenty of laughs are to be had by the fire. Enjoy singing with Katie Rose.

9 pm: Dive-in Movie: Home 
Join us for the ultimate movie experience nestled amongst the beautiful backdrop of the Omni Mount Washington Hotel and Resort. 

Saturday July 2, 2016 

7 am: Gentle Flow Yoga
The perfect way to start your day! Class begins with breath awareness exercises and a few moments of quiet reflection. Some gentle stretching opens the way to a practice of yoga poses to build strength, flexibility, and awareness. All levels are welcome. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Activities Concierge desk at (603) 278-8989. Fees Apply; $20 pp. 

8 am: Star Spangled Color Blast and Dash
Wear your white tee in this colorful dash. Choose your course (3k or 5k) and walk or run as your favorite fans shower you in red or blue patriotic spirit hues! 

9 - 10 am: Create your Own 4th of July Accessory
Show your pride as you decorate your own Uncle Sam Hat or Lady Liberty Crown. 

9:30 am: Vinyasa Flow Yoga
This early morning class will help you balance both ying/yang, lunar/solar and also help you channel your feminine/masculine energy. This class will begin with a warm up, and includes assists/adjusts (if desired), mat stretching, stand-up exercising, peak poses, sun and moon salutations and ends with a complete guided relaxation. All levels are welcome. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Activities Concierge desk at (603) 278-8989. Fees Apply; $20 pp.

11 am - 12 pm: Wethervane Theatre
Enjoy a patriotic performance by youthful Patchwork Players! 

12 - 2 pm: Omni Mount Washington Resort Country BBQ: Jewell Terrace  
Join us for our annual country BBQ! Bring your appetite as our a la carte BBQ will have all the fixings.

2-2:45 pm: Prohibition Tea Party
During the Golden Era the Mount Washington Hotel quietly served alcohol to the fine guests in a hidden speakeasy, now called The Cave and is fittingly night hot spot for adults. Now come and join us to experience your own Prohibition “Tea” Party and learn a little more about the history of the 18th Amendment, the Volstead Act, the cost of bootlegging to the US economy and the role The Cave played during the dry times in New England while sipping on one of our favorite turn of the Era beverages. Fees Apply; $20 pp.

3-5 pm: Brew Tasting
Enjoy tasting a variety of frothy selections in your very own Omni Mount Washington Resort pint glass. Participants must be 21 or older. Fees apply; $25 per glass with unlimited tastings. 

6 pm: Picnic Blanket Bingo 
Can you get five in a row and shout "BINGO!" Join us on the lawn in this fun, family friendly version of bingo! 

6:30 - 9:30 pm: Omni Kids Explorers at Night

Enjoy the 4th of July on the back lawn with a classical band playing patriotic music that will certainly make for a fun-filledd evening for all! Music will break for fireworks around 9:30 pm. 

9:30 pm: Omni Mount Washington Resort's Famous Fireworks Display: Back Veranda & Jewell Terrace 
Watch the sky light up this 4th of July with the most beautiful backdrop, Mount Washington! 

9:30 pm - 12:30 am: The Cave - After Party
Adults join us in The Cave after the fireworks for live music. 

Sunday July 3, 2016 

8 am: Cereal Cinema: School House Rock
Skip the popcorn and munch on your favorite cereal while you wake up with one of your favorite morning movies. 

11 am: Rubber Duck Race
The annual rubber duck race has become a must see event at the Omni Mount Washington Resort. Join us as we release hundreds of ducks in to the Ammonoosuc River. Will your duck paddle its way to the finish line? Race day starts at 10 am where you can choose from an assortment of themed ducks. The ducks will be dropped in the river promptly at 11 am. 

12-2 pm: Red, White & Blues Picnic
Join us for a picnic on the lawn complete with the award winning Blues Band The Dave Keller Band. Choose from three selections of picnic baskets that the whole family can enjoy. We will provide the picnic lunch and the blankets. So bring your flags and your red, white and blue! Fees apply; based on picnic baskets.

12 - 4 pm: Civil War Encampment Re-enactment 
Travel back in time to the Civil War as the Vermont Civil War Hemlocks and the 6th New Hampshire Infantry Company set up a replica of a Civil War campsite. Complete with tents, flags, cook fires and other appropriate equipment. Engage in the activities of the Civil War solider as you learn about marching, drilling, posting guards, writing letters and cooking meals. Walk through the campsite, talk to the soldiers and learn about the life of a Vermont or New Hampshire soldier.

Call to Arms: Artillery Demonstrations
Enjoy demonstrations dating back to the American Revolution.

2 pm: Pie Eating Contest
Stuff your face with our house made delicious cherry or blueberry pies! Do you have what it takes to eat a whole pie? Prizes will be awarded to the fastest participant.

3 pm: Battle of Wettysburg
Fight to stay dry in this Civil War themed water balloon fight. Who will win the battle and rule the Resort grounds…the North or the South…?

4 - 5 pm: Ice Cream Social: Sundae Bar
Create your own delicious sundae from the selection of toppings and candies, then sit back and enjoy.

Fees: $5 per sundae

6 - 7 pm: Robert Clark aka Lucky Bob: Magic, Juggling and Funny Guy
Join us as we bring the award winding Boston magician and juggler Robert Clarke here to entertain, mystify and keep you wanting more. This interactive magic and juggling show will take you on a roller coaster of laughs, cheers and smiles.

8 pm: Stargazing 
The New Hampshire Astronomical Society will be here for a special night of stargazing. Join us for an informal lecture at 8:00pm, afterwards join us outside to see the constellations first hand from our back lawn where light pollution is virtually non existent and the stars will shine like celestial beacons in the crisp, summer sky.

9 - 11 pm: Drive In Movie: Home
Join us for the ultimate movie experience nestled amongst the beautiful backdrop of the Omni Mount Washington Hotel and Resort.

5-10 pm: Family Fun at Bretton Woods
Enjoy all the festivities we have in store for you including live music and family lawn games. Be sure to check out everything from face-painting and balloon twisting to our headlining entertainment. There will surely be something for everyone! BBQ and drinks will be available and fees do apply!
